Joeys, Joshers and James
The Society’s new season of talks begins on Thursday 14th September at 7:30 pm in St. Andrew’s Church, Bilston Street, Sedgley. The speaker is Phil Clayton a council member of Birmingham Canal Navigations Society.
His illustrated talk covers the rise, fall and regeneration of the Black Country and Birmingham canals. The network was started by James Brindley in the 1760s with major improvements undertaken by Thomas Telford in the 1830s.
As usual visitors are invited to come along. Individual talks cost £1. Annual membership of the Society costs £5 and gives free access to the programme of talks.
