Dudley Castle Talk
The Society’s new season of talks begins on Thursday 14th September at 7:30 pm in St. Andrew’s Church, Bilston Street, Sedgley.
The speaker is John Hemingway the Archaeological Officer for Dudley Metropolitan Borough. His illustrated talk, 'A History & Archaeology of Dudley Castle', is based on personal excavations and research.
John's association with the castle began with ‘digs’ in the mid 1980s followed by detailed research into its owners and their ever-changing buildings. This summer he published a copiously illustrated book (An Illustrated Chronicle of the Castle and Barony of Dudley 1070-1757) covering 700 years of castle occupation.
As usual visitors are invited to come along - admission £1. Full membership of the Society costs £4 and gives free access to the 2006/2007 programme of talks.
