The Society’s next meeting takes place on Thursday 14th October 2004 at 7:30pm in St. Andrew’s Church, Bilston Street, Sedgley.
David Bate, vice chairman of the Turls Hill & Swanbrook Valley Residents Association, will talk about the Manor’s most exciting landscape protection programme. The designated area includes parts of the old villages of Woodsetton and Upper Ettingshall. The Project has already benefited from a management plan and gained green belt status. David’s slide presentation will capture the quality of these open spaces.
Recent surveys show a flourishing flora and fauna as well as ‘lost’ industrial sites and remnants of C19th & C20th farming. A further insight can be gained by visiting the Project’s website.
As usual visitors are invited to come along. Individual talks cost £1 or a full year’s membership is a bargain at £3.
