The Gunpowder Plot

The next meeting of the Society takes place on Thursday 12th May at 7:30 pm in St. Andrew's Church, Bilston Street, Sedgley.

The very short Annual General Meeting is followed by a talk on The Gunpowder Plot.

The speaker is Mary Bodfish, a favourite with local history groups and Chairman of Smethwick Local History Society.

Mary's illustrated talk covers one of the most intriguing political stories in English history. The evening is an ideal opportunity to hear about a shoot-out in Wall Heath where many of the plotters made a last stand after the arrest of Guy Fawkes in London.

Visitors are asked to pay £2 – exact amount appreciated. Wearing a mask is a personal choice.
