May and June meetings
The unprecedented disruption to everyday life caused by Covid-19 has impacted on all social activities.
The Society has postponed the May AGM and talk. Furthermore, the June walk has been cancelled.
It is hoped the 2020/2021 programme of talks can begin in the autumn as usual.
Take care and stay safe.
2020 – Spring Teaser Answer
We asked if you could identify the original location of this museum replica of a 1930s built garage in Sedgley Manor.
The original garage was built in 1936 for Alec Broome on the east side of Wolverhampton Road East, south of the then Fighting Cocks pub junction, (now replaced by an Aldi superstore). An accurate replica was erected at the Black Country Living Museum in 2008.
Alec ran the Conway Garage with his wife until the late 1980s.
