The next meeting of SLHS will take place on Thursday 11th March at 7:45 pm at St. Andrew's Church, Bilston Street, Sedgley.

Trevor Genge, the Society's Chairman and well known local historian, was hobnobbing with the likes of Mike Aston and Tony Robinson in the summer of 2003. Channel 4's Time Team programme sponsored a National Big Dig Week encouraging people throughout the country to dig holes at potentially important archaeological sites in school playing fields, gardens, waste ground, car parks and so on. Finds ranged from the mundane to the marvellous.

Trevor was a local advisor for the hole opened in a Sedgley village garden. In this illustrated talk he recalls a fascinating day out and lifts the lid on 'live' television.
