The Society’s next meeting takes place on Thursday 10th February 2005 at 7:30pm in St. Andrew’s Church, Bilston Street, Sedgley.
The speaker is Peter Boland, the Principal Conservation Officer of Dudley M. B. His illustrated talk will cover the preservation of the remains of a glassworks under the newly created Stone Street Square, and the central Dudley scheme to highlight the development of the town from medieval times. It is hoped the latter long term project will attract visitors as well as rejuvenate currently unattractive streetscapes.
The borough is bursting with sites worthy of exploration and digging up the past has led Peter to some surprising finds. This evening will almost certainly reveal exciting discoveries made by Dudley's own ‘Time Team’.
As usual visitors are invited to come along. Individual talks cost £1.
